Pl7 07 Software Download
Hi All, Im having trouble communicating with an old TSX17 that needs replacing, im wanting to download the current program off it. I have read alot of the posts on the forums regarding the TSX17 but none seem to be related to the problem im having. I've just installed a copy of PL7-2 (Xtel) on OS/2 Warp that i managed to dig out. But the problem is when I try search for the PLC or use some of their utilites i keep getting a popup box saying the following: NO SOFTWARE ACCESS RIGHTS PROGRAM COMPLETE Ok so hardware wise I have: COM2 DB9 RS232/RS485 convertor DB15 TSX17 Any of these could be faulty, I've made them myself.
On the convertor i can see lights flickering on the RS232 side just before the popupbox above appears. Also i could maybe have the baud rate wrong it set itself the default of 9600 Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. Hello tomhelliwell The messsage 'No software.' Has nothing to the converter you use. It just means that you have no licence for PL7-2 software, you need disk or special black box with the licence.
What you can do is to find XTEL PACK and install it on OS2. The image file of XTEL PACK which you can find in internet probably has also licence key so you should not seen that message any more. If so send me private message.
The other issue is the converter you are asking about. In the factory we have converter made by one of our technician so I will check just after the weekend what is inside and give you info. Did anyone tested this interface? Comparing it with some shematics available in internet it´s quite different.
I am talking about this 'block diagram' I will wait for a feedback. Thank you all tintin2005 I had a go at this and I can confirm that it's working just fine, provided that you use 4.7 ohm instead of 4.7 Kohm as a resistor going from ground to pin 15 on the MAX 232. I also connected pin 12 on the TSX interface to ground as proposed in the link you provided. The only problem I had was regarding the installation of the software, it had to be on a really old laptop, any other machine would only result in a 'division by zero' error message whenever I started up the program. The processor in my old laptop is a 'first version' Pentium (75 MHz:P ) and I guess any Pentium would do just fine. Anything fancier, like PII and beyond, would only result in error messages IMO. I know this comes a bit late, but hopefully it will help others facing the same problem:).

Hello and thank you for the info, After some researches I discovered that it could be because of the file DUNTLW01.SYS which is missed (unitelway driver), but I have DTSXPC.EXE from the name it's a 'Driver TSX PC' I guess, and I successfully loaded the driver with config.sys and I can see the Driver listed, I can blink the TX LED of my cable but the PLC don't reply yet. I'm sure the cable is working cause I already connected the PLC from Automgen, well I have to figure out why. My Config.sys has 'DEVICE=C: XDOSSYS EXE DTSXPC.EXE INST=1 PORT=COM1 CONN=-1 MAXSPEED=19200 TELEMECANIQUE'. This gives me the following: 'TSX serial terminal port XWAY driver version 5.0' 'Copyright (C) Telemecanique 1993, all rights reserved' ' - INST=1' ' - SBUF=10 (default assumed)' ' - RBUF=20 (default assumed)' ' - ABUF=0 (default assumed)' ' - Ressources reserved for external application buffers.' ' - PORT=COM1' ' - SPEED=19200' ' - CONN=-1' My Autoexec.bat has 'SET XDOSSYS=C: XDOSSYS' 'SET XPROHELP=C: XDOSSYS HLP' 'SET QHD=C: XDOSSYS HLP' The last line in Autoexec.bat is TE, which starts the main program.
