Mentor's community hub consists of about 176 acres along the east side of Center Street (Ohio 615) north of Mansion Boulevard. The city owns the hub's northernmost 100 acres, dubbed Mentor Civic Center. The site straddles Munson Road, which wends southeast from Center Street. It includes City Hall, a firehouse, a pool, an ice arena with two rinks, senior center, recreation center, and the new amphitheater. Next door, the school board's roughly 65 acres include Mentor High, the board's office and Osborne Stadium.

Between the school and city sites, Lake Health's $30 million center is rising on about 11 acres at the western corner of the angled Munson and Market. The non-profit health system is leasing the site, owned by the port and rezoned last year by voters. Jonathan Archey, Lake Health vice president, says the center will be the region's first to blend fitness and treatment. Its roughly 85,000 square feet will include medical offices, two pools, a spa, an indoor track and other typical fitness features.
